Association Description

Established in 1979, Florida Parking and Transportation Association (FPTA) has been dedicated to fulfilling the needs of its members. From training the valuable front-line employees, to creating one of the largest networking opportunities for learning in a state association, to bringing the latest innovation to our members, FPTA has consistently been at the top of our industry. FPTA relies on our diverse members who bring different points of views, knowledge, lessons learned through case studies, making our organization unique, relevant and successful. The FPTA conference each year attracts organizations with the latest technology that will ultimately change our role as parking professionals. The educational offerings at the conference are filled with valuable information, case studies and plenty of discussion time for attendees to learn from one another.

Mission Statement: The Parking Association of the Virginias serves the parking industry in Virginia and West Virginia by providing educational and networking opportunities.

Board of Directors: The Board of Directors conducts the business of PAV including annual workshops, elections, maintenance of website and membership information, defining membership types, fees, and benefits, etc. The Board of Directors has 10 members.

The Parking Association of The Virginias is a non-profit chartered corporation of the state of Virginia and licensed by the State Corporation Commission to practice business in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

It includes the state of West Virginia with association members from that state. The association became a chartered corporation in 1988 when a small group of parking professionals in the north and eastern part of the state decided that facing the daily challenges of the parking industry could be easier with help from others. Our mission is to promote the parking profession in our region.

Association Description

The PPA began with its first meeting on December 11, 1985. The first conference was held in 1989 in Harrisburg. Since then, the conference has been held annually at cities across the state including State College, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Bethlehem, Valley Forge, Scranton, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. Today we have over 100 members. The Association is considered one of the strongest and most active state associations in the industry, hosting an annual conference, golf outing, training events and other networking functions.

  • Enhance Outreach and Communications - Improve member outreach and communications by connecting members and vendors, establish member volunteer committees, launch annual formal engagement surveys and formalize membership communication vehicles.
  • Enhance Roundtable Program - Enhance the roundtable program by instituting social/networking events in conjunction with the roundtables, identifying topics that appeal to different facets of parking and transportation, and creating a volunteer committee.
